Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read Ruth 2.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — Ruth, the young widow, works hard in the fields all day, harvesting the gleanings for her own food after the main harvesters have finished their work; there, she meets the man she will marry, her dead husband’s rich cousin, Boaz.
- Doctrinal — Everything physical in the Old Testament is a picture of some thing spiritual in the New Testament: this story pictures how Jesus, the wealthy owner and loving Savior, pursues a relationship with us, Christians who make up the “bride of Christ”.
- Inspirational — I am so thankful that Jesus has shown me the type of mercy and grace that Ruth received from Boaz (see verses 8-10); may I cultivate Ruth’s sense of gratitude in verse 10.
