Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read Proverbs 1.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — King Solomon begins writing a book to his son, who is a young man in need of understanding and living God’s wisdom throughout his life.
- Doctrinal — God designed the attitude of fearing Him (being in absolute awe of God and fully confident people don’t get away with anything) as the starting point for God’s wisdom (verse 7). Interestingly, when you “fear the Lord”, you don’t have to “fear evil” happens to you; it’s a form of protection (verse 33).
- Inspirational — The fear of God is a choice; I need to choose the fear of God again today (verse 29).
