Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read Matthew 26.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — This chapter records the last days of Jesus life, from predicting He’d be crucified, to the last supper, midnight prayer in the garden, arrest, and Peter’s denials.
- Doctrinal — Jesus was both fully God and fully man, struggling with human emotions of wanting to avoid the cross and divine will knowing the cross was what God the Father wanted (read about Jesus’ sadness and struggle in verses 38-46).
- Inspirational — I need to remember that it’s normal and human to struggle emotionally between what I want and what God wants: the struggle doesn’t make me less of a follower of Jesus (see how Jesus struggled in verses 38-46).
