Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read Luke 19.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — Jesus eats with a notorious sinner (tax collector) Zacchaeus, enters Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the roar of the crowds, weeps over the spiritual blindness enveloping the city of Jerusalem, and cleanses the Temple of the money changers.
- Doctrinal — Jesus reveals the range of emotions God experiences with the people of this world: compassion and brokenness for the lost, combined with wrath and judgment for the hypocritical and greedy religious class.
- Inspirational – Every time my head gets too much “in the weeds” of the daily battle, every time I am tempted to “lose sight of the forest for the trees”, I ought to remember Jesus’ summary of history in verses 11-27. #focusonwhatmatters
