Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read John 10.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — Jesus teaches that He is the Good Shepherd who has come to give His people life by laying down His life, then, near Hanukkah, Jesus teaches that He is One with God (causing the Jews who understand His claim to be equal with God and try to stone Him or arrest Him on the spot).
- Doctrinal — Jesus is God in the flesh; co-equal with God; loving and serving us as the Good Shepherd; laying down His life for us and being misunderstood.
- Inspirational — I need to lead our pastors at this retreat to be good shepherds following THE “Good Shepherd”: the word “pastor” is the same word as “shepherd” in Greek (v.1-19).
