Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read Isaiah 40.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — God sends the prophet Isaiah to Jerusalem with a message: your punishment is over, the Savior is coming, humans are shockingly weak and frail, and God is incomparably wise and strong.
- Doctrinal — The Lord loves and cares for us as the most protective and gentle shepherd cares for his young defenseless lambs (see verse 11).
- Inspirational — When I am confused, I need to remember that God has never needed advice about what is right or best. When I feel powerless, I need to remember God has never needed help from others to overcome a great challenge. (See verses 12-14.)
