Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read Acts 6.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — The apostles address a legitimate need to care for all poor widows without family support in their church (not just those with a Jewish background) by appointing seven men to serve as deacons, then the Jews arrest Stephen (one of the new deacons) by lying about him because he was preaching Christ.
- Doctrinal — God is the one who establishes the priorities of our lives (primary, secondary, tertiary, etc.) and expects us to make choices to delay, delegate, or say no to opportunities based on His priorities for our lives (see verses 2-4).
- Inspirational — God? Is there anything I am doing right now that I shouldn’t be doing? That I should stop or delegate or delay?
