Want to read the Bible with me today?
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read Acts 17.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
– Historical — This chapter shows how Paul adapted his message to his audience: with the Jews in Thessalonica and Berea, Paul reasons from the Hebrew Scriptures teaching Bible verse after Bible verse; with the pagan Romans in Athens, Paul drew upon common knowledge, cultural examples, and their own poets to preach the gospel.
– Doctrinal — As in verse 31 to 32, our message needs to always point to the resurrection of Christ, which is our great hope and who is our great love.
– Inspirational — God? Please help me to communicate your timeless message of the resurrection, by adapting to cultures of the people I’m talking to.
