Want to read the Bible with me today?

First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.

Then, read Acts 1.

Then, write down something you can apply to your life.

Then, read what I wrote:

 - Historical — Jesus tells his followers to reach the world with the gospel after receiving the Holy Spirit in a few days, then Jesus ascended to heaven from the Mount of Olives east of Jerusalem, and the disciples replace the 12th Apostle Judas Iscariot with Matthias.

 - Doctrinal — Not only will Jesus come again physically to this world as was promised, Jesus will “touch down” on the Mount of Olives at the same place he left earth, splitting the Mount of Olives in two (read Zechariah 14:4).

 - Inspirational — Lord, help me to live out Acts 1:8 and help my household and church take the gospel to our city (Overland Park and Olathe are our “Jerusalem’s”), to our county (Johnson county is our “Judea”), to neighboring counties (places like Miami County, Wyandotte County, and Jackson County Missouri are our “Samaria’s”), and to “unreached people groups” (i.e. less than 2% of Christians in the people group) around the world.
