Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read 2 Chronicles 1.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — When King Solomon is given the chance to ask God for anything at the beginning of his reign, he doesn’t ask for riches or long life: he asks for God’s wisdom to lead God’s people.
- Doctrinal — God? A close relationship with You is the most important thing a leader needs: “…the LORD his God was with [King Solomon] and exalted him exceedingly…” (see verse 1).
- Inspirational — God? I pray Solomon’s prayer in verse 10 to You again, knowing with all the important things before my family and my church, I desperately need Your guidance: “Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?”
