Then, write down something you can apply to your life.

Then, read what I wrote:

 - Historical — The Philistine leaders demand their king not allow David to fight against Israel with them for fear he would turn on them.

 - Doctrinal — God can direct our lives through our disappointments.

– Inspirational — I need to remember that the “losses” I experience may not be losses at all, but directional signs toward a better long-term path (read how the disappointment of chapter 29 led David to the needed path of chapter 30).
