Then, write down something you can apply to your life.

Then, read what I wrote:

 - Historical — David spares Saul’s life but admits his regret over sneaking up to Saul and cutting off a corner of his robe as he went to the bathroom in the cave, and Saul finally admits that David will be king after him and asks David to be merciful to his descendants.

 - Doctrinal — Revenge is God’s job, not our job (read verses 4 through 7).

 - Inspirational — I need to listen when God prompts me in my heart that my actions were wrong and go apologize to the ones I wronged (see verse 5 and 8).
