Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read 1 Kings 12.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — Solomon’s son, King Rehoboam, foolishly threatens his people to be a harsher leader than his dad, which causes the northern 10 tribes (known as Israel) to break away from the southern two tribes (known as Judah).
- Doctrinal — God can use the foolish mistakes of people to accomplish His larger will (verse 15).
- Inspirational — Dear God, may I always have the attitude and lifestyle of a servant to the people I lead (verse 7).
