Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read 1 Kings 11.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical — The end of Solomon’s life is characterized by Solomon marrying many foreign women (which was disobeying God), having his heart turned away from God by his wives, and (as a consequence) God raising up enemies to oppose Solomon and make his life and reign difficult.
- Doctrinal — God does get angry: when we allow anything to become more important to us than God (verse 9).
- Inspirational — Dear God, help me guard my heart from all the things that try to take your place as my #1 priority
