Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html

First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.

Then, read 1 Chronicles 17.

Then, write down something you can apply to your life.

Then, read what I wrote:

 - Historical — David has the idea to build a permanent temple for worship, God sends Nathan to tell David that David’s son will do it instead, and David humbly reflects on how good God has been to him, his family, and Israel.

 - Doctrinal — There is nothing wrong with initiating things for God, as long as we are open to God changing our plans at any moment.

 - Inspirational — David’s response hit me deeply today. His thoughts are mine. Verse 16 says, “Then King David went in and sat before the LORD; and he said: ‘Who am I, O LORD God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far?’ “
