Select Page - Logo This year, I've been posting one thing I'm taking away from each chapter we're reading through on my Twitter feed and my Facebook page. Ben mentioned yesterday that some people might benefit if those thoughts hit this blog too.

Any thoughts out there? Would this be helpful if I posted these types of comments on a daily basis here too?


  • Are there six more gracious & powerful words from God? "But if they confess they iniquity…" (Lev 26:40)
  • Is there a better plan for a worse time in your life (being falsely accused)? (Psa 59:4)
  • The day trust becomes trustworthy is the day you place your trust 100% in God (Psa 60:11)


  • Technically speaking, you can't give something to God that He already owns (Lev 27:26)
  • Every person who steps out for Christ had better count themselves ready for spiritual warfare (Num 1:3)
  • God is a shelter…but you still have to run to Him for protection (Psa 61:3)
  • You can't trust God the way you need, until you've poured out your heart the way you need (Psa 62:8)
  • When you're lying awake in bed, mind churning, put your thoughts on who God was, who He is, and who He will be (Psa 63:6)


  • God brings order to His people by placing them in their own mutually-supportive communities (Num 2:34)
  • What a picture of our calling – to live our lives as a gift to Jesus Christ (our high priest) and serve Him (Num 3:6-7)
  • Remember the childhood saying, "Sticks & stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me"? Not sure it's true (Psa 64:3)
  • Reminded me of Jesus who calmed the stormy seas with His word in Matthew 8:23-27 (Psa 65:7)


  • I'm struck today by how much of an honor it is to carry God around in our body (i.e. tabernacle/tent, 2Cor 5:1-4) (Num 4:47)
  • Sin stops prayer (Psa 66:18)
  • We can reach the world for Jesus by reaching every "nation" – not geopolitical nations, but ethno-linguistic groups (Psa 67:2)


  • What Israel did regarding contagious diseases sounds like guidelines to protect the church spiritually (Num 5:2-3, 1Cor 5:9-13)
  • What's up with "No haircuts, then shaving bald"? It's impossible to separate yourself to God without sticking out. (Num 6:5,18)
  • Every time I read this verse, I picture the scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark when the Germans opened the Ark (Psa 68:2) #OWNit365
