I was wondering: Is it a sinful pride to feel better when your team wins? I walk a little taller when “my” team does well. Is that being “puffed up” or “swollen” with pride? I do have a sense of joy that the local team I grew up with is doing well (or when my alma mater defeats its rival). I have hope that we are turning a corner from perennial losers toward champions. I think that is why our culture loves opening day; hope springs eternal; well, at least temporarily. Where do you think the line is between a spring in your step after a hard fought victory where our DNA makes us cheer for our chosen under-dog, and the false sinful pride of allegiance to something set up like an idol to be worshipped above our creator? Just a couple questions raised from a conversation I had with a brother in Christ about athletic competition and the Christian walk. Your thots? premonition-good question for Wednesday night bible Q&A?
