A friend and physical therapist gave me the best formula for making your own reusable ice pack.
Seal (a) 3 cups water and (b) 1 cup isopropyl alcohol inside (c) 2 freezer bags.
It’s simple, flexible, and can mold to your body quickly.
Take it out of the freezer, mash it up a little so it’s flexible, wrap it in a dish towel, and wrap it to your body with an Ace bandage.
My daily companion. A must have.

Ice pack heck! That there is a perfect mix for water gun fights!
We use to take a bit of rubbing alcohol, mix with water, add ice cubes, and dump into the ‘ol water cannon. Granted you can’t and shouldn’t shoot anyone in the face with this mix, but it sure was fun to watch their eyeballs pop open when their shirt went from 90+ degrees to -30 real quick like.
Heh… them’s were the days.

You are giving me a great idea for a family activity when I get back on my feet. 🙂
I know you posted this some time ago, but I want you to know that you are impacting people’s lives with this post! 🙂 Kerrie just had her surgery and need to ice her feet regularly. I thought I remembered you posting something about an ice pack formula. I found it, used it and it works great. Thanks for passing along the tip.
