Here’s a couple photos (click to enlarge) and memories from today.
This morning’s Sunday worship service started off with several baptisms in this local church. The church held worship at our hotel because their facility is housing 27 men from San Salvador.
After that, we all went back inside for worship and my message called "How to Become a Man of God" from Psalm 90.
After lunch at the local mall food court (most of us got the "typical Nicaraguan plate"), part of our team headed out to help recruit children around the church to a kid’s club event.
In the evening, we headed to a nicer area of Managua around the "Japanese Park" (down the street from the church) to share our faith with people and invite them to the 6:30 p.m. movie.
Through my translator, Vladimir, I had the chance to lead three people in professions of faith. (Yea God!) The first couple was sitting on the swing with their too-cute baby.
The other was a 19-year-old industrial engineering student who wanted to attend UCLA next year (I encouraged her to think hard about attending a better California school). 🙂
The team had a great day. I think some of them are experiencing a little bit of wonder at the cultural differences they are seeing.
Off to bed. Our team and I are out of gas, and loving every minute of it.
Thanks SO much for these updates. Tell Uncle Mike the “Hardy Party” says hi and that some of us napped in the living room in honor of his absence. 🙂 We miss you all!
I gave Uncle Michael the heads up. He laughed heartily.
We’ll be back soon!
