Daughter_first_day_of_schoolI am my daughter’s father.  (I am also my son’s father.)

This weekend, I am PSYCHED about kicking off our new series on parenting called "Seasons."  It’s all about how to guide our kids (and ourselves) through the various seasons of life.

I saw some short video clips recently that opened my eyes up again to the high-intensity, body-image pressures that our daughters face.  Check out video 1, video 2, and video 3.

We all see TOO MANY examples of girls who bear the scars of not having a father’s unconditional love.  They’re on this desperate & depressing hunt for affirmation, wherever & however they can find it (e.g. body, boys, barriers, babies, bent on success, etc.).  No peace.  I don’t want that for my daughter (or ANY daughter I know, for that matter).

Our daughters need the unending, unwavering, and unconditional love
& presence of a father…with a healthy dose of the
"heart-antidotes" found in places like Proverbs 31:30 and 1 Peter 3:3-4.  The great news is that God, as a perfect Father, can reach & restore ANYONE’S heart…no matter what type of human father they had!

P.S. A "hat tip" to’s blog entry on the videos.
