Pastor_tony_felichI’m on a quest to meet our church neighbors.

I am in the process of reaching out to the pastors within 1-mile of our facility.  The "1-Mile Pastors" group.

Every month, I tell the next generation of people coming through our Prospective Members Class that Grace Church is not in competition with other churches in the community.  God called us to be "fishers of men" instead of "rustlers of sheep."

I’ve had the chance to have lunch with several of them so far and I’ll give you a heads up on each over the next few weeks.  But today, I want to feature Tony Felich from Redeemer Presbyterian.

He’s a native New Yorker who loves the Yankees, but God’s grace is sufficient to forgive even this.  🙂  He’s been pastoring in Overland Park almost as long as I have been with Grace.  Redeemer is going through some construction right now, adding a worship center.  His church has a school, Westminter Christian Academy (we have some members that attend their school).  He also has a radio ministry and a blog.

Here’s his "one big prayer request" for his church these days…

"On the macro-level, please pray that God would grant us strength to realize the vision He has put before us. Our vision, which we believe to be in accord with the Great Commission (Matthew 28:17-20) and the discipleship mandate of Colossians 1:28-29 is threefold:  First, to be a center for the worship of God in our community.  Second, to be a training ground for disciples of Jesus Christ.  Third, to be a catalyst for the transformation of culture for Christ. "

Would you pause just a moment and lift Tony and Redeemer up in prayer?  Thanks.
