Knee_lateral_viewIt was the second half of our team’s basketball game last night.  The game was clean, hard fought, and low scoring to that point.

I was on defense and I tipped a ball as it was passed to the left corner near the Grace Church stage.  The Christ Community Church player cut to his right and I planted my right leg to cut left and…

…my knee decided I was done for the night…and the season.

As I tried to cut left, I heard a sound I’ve never
heard before.  (The whole court heard my right knee too.)  It sounded like 7-10 rapid-fire pops in half a
second (
"pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop").  I felt my knee "wobble" in a sickening way on my way down.  Man down!  Man down!

As I collapsed to the ground I remember saying, "Whoa!  That’s not good!  That’s not good!"  It hurt, but not as bad as I thought. I just couldn’t walk.  Several people said, "Dude, you just blew your ACL."

Anyway, my Doc put me on the RICE treatment plan, I’m limping around with my first pair of crutches, and I’m looking forward to some quality time with an MRI.

I’ll let you know
more as I get info.
