Guys, I am SO excited about the series we are kicking off this Sunday.
We're going to be talking about how to survive the UNBELIEVABLY crazy "Madne$$" that our society is facing with the economy & layoffs & bailouts & fears.
Here's a preview of what we're talking about:
- 3/1 — "Survive & Advance" (Fear)
- Surviving Full-Court Economic Pressures
- 3/8 — "Cinderella Story" (Career)
- Succeeding in the Corporate Sector
- 3/15 — "X's & O's" (Planning)
- Game Planning for Downturns
- 3/22 — "Final Four" (Generosity)
- Four Final Principles for Success
And we've ALL got people around us who are REALLY STRUGGLING with fear. They're worrying about the markets, and whether they'll have a job next week, and how this will all impact their standard of living. You've GOT to get them with you to Grace on Sunday when we take on FEAR head-on!!!
I came across this quote today and thought it was pretty cool. See what you think…
“I have learned to live each day as it comes, and not to borrow trouble by dreading tomorrow. It is the dark menace of the future that makes cowards of us.” – Dorothy Dix
Fear drives us to survival mode. This is the risk…we fall into survival mode…bringing a halt to the things we need to be doing…in our life, ministry and community. As believers we have an opportunity to thrive…not just survive. If we allow our faith to weaken we bring into question the very foundation we stand upon. Now more than every others are looking for clarity. I can’t think of a more clear direction than a person standing on the truth found in their walk with God. The goodness…God is the same…pre and post bailout. This is the real stimulus package that is needed. Sounds simple but isn’t that God – I Cor 1:27.
Tom, you are so right. Fear absolutely paralyzes us, keeping us from becoming everything God hopes us to be.
