WC Ldr Summit 08a I saw Pastor Ben at the office this afternoon, and he mentioned to me, "Hey, Tim, I see you didn't post on the final session of the Leadership Summit.  Did you forget about it?"

(The last session was from Bill Hybels called, "Relentless.")

I was going to post on it yesterday as the conference ended.  I was gathering my thoughts as Bill finished up his talk.  It was good, as always.  Then we hit the closing…

They started playing a song that I'd heard before a handful of times (even sang at Grace): "God of This City."  I was expecting to sing & go home.  End of conference.

Then they played a video with the song…images of cities around this world…letters cascading around the world (hard to describe)…

The God showed up…and I was wrecked spiritually…

I stood there unable to sing…unable to speak…tears streaming down my face…yearning for God…crying out on the inside to do what we'd just talked about:

  • "For God to do something extraordinary for His kingdom…through us…not for our credit…not that anyone else would ever know or hear about it…just to be used in an extraordinary, unexplainable way by Him…"

I couldn't write about it until today.  I'm still wrecked on the inside (in the best of ways)…
