FINISHED AGAIN — Last weekend, I finished up another round through the Bible — reading Genesis to Revelation. I've been reading the Bible this way — from cover-to-cover — for most of my Christian life. (I'll turn 22 years old spiritually on July 20.) Sometimes I've been in a plan that reads more (up to 12 chapters a day)…sometimes less (e.g. through-the-Bible-in-a-year).
This past time through the Bible, I slowed down to a "Read-through-the-Bible-in-40-weeks" plan. I loved it. It allowed me to meditate more each day and journal on what I was reading, or what was on my heart in life.
COMING IN 2011 — We are SERIOUSLY leaning toward reading through the Bible-In-A-Year as a church in 2011. There are a boatload of people who haven't. By doing it together — where we're on the same reading schedule — where I put out quick "orientation video" for each week of reading — where we have somewhere we can discuss it online — I think we'll see a TON of people actually finish & grow spiritually.
NOW WHAT?? — I'm going to be experimenting with different reading plans through the rest of this year, as I gear up for 2011 together. Here's what I'm going to be doing the next 30 days. The 30 Stories You've Never Heard plan. (Kudos to the TNIV website!) I found the plan here on Zondervan's website. (Thanks Zondervan!) and modified it for myself slightly for the next 30 days. (1) I changed it to read whole chapters. (2) I'm taking Sundays off because we're hearing from God together at church!

Tim,
I started this reading with you, and I am excited to have a place to comment and discuss the readings to ensure I interpret it correctly.
Thanks for caring enough to ensure those around us keep plugged in to the bigger picture of the body of Christ.
