I am in "2-3 business day" purgatory.

Injury + 1 Day (Mon) – Appointment miraculously scheduled the day after injury.  Upon leaving, a prophetess (receptionist) warns,  "Sir, it usually takes 2-3 business days to get the paperwork to the insurance company to pre-approve an MRI."  I ignore the forboding music & eerie echo in her voice.

2-3 business days later…

Injury + 4 Days (Thu) – Phone call from imaging company.  A second prophetess (receptionist) congratulates me, "Mr. Howey, we can now schedule your appointment.  You’ve been approved."  I’m glad.  I’ve been looking for approval all my life.  She warns, "Let’s see.  Hmmm.  The first appointment we have available is in 2-3 business days."  In the distance, a wolf howls.

2-3 business days later…

Injury + 9 Days (Tue) – Visit to imaging
company.  A third prophetess (technician) finishes my MRI.  "Mr.
Howey, here are your shoes."  A glimmer of hope arises.  "And it usually takes 2-3 business days for us to get the results back to your doctor."  A sinister laugh wafts from the control room.

I’ll let you know more…in 2-3 business days….

At that time, I’m hoping for a call to schedule my next appointment…in 2-3 business days…  🙂
